Why is it important to help in Guatemala?

Over 50% of Guatemalan citizens are under age 25, making it the youngest population in the Americas. (UNESCO)

More than 2 million out-of-school youth between ages 15 and 24, including 600,000 in the Western Highlands, do not have sufficient life or vocational skills to enter the workforce. (USAID)

Long-term development and improved equity in Guatemala will only be possible if education of children and youth continues to improve. (USAID)

In 2025, 7,991 degree-seeking students were enrolled in UVG’s three campuses. Through education, they are creating positive futures for themselves and their communities.
